In the past year, wildfires and smoke have affected all of our 9 Bay Area Counties. How can our built environment respond to these challenges while also reducing contributions to climate change?
This half-day BayREN forum will explore how building features for energy efficiency and for wildfire resistance can work together and where they may conflict. Focusing on residential buildings, we will hear about the fire resistance and energy efficiency of different home vintages, air sealing and indoor air quality, local Bay Area experiences with rebuilding after wildfires, and how all of these can inform the design and construction of new homes as well as retrofits to make our communities more resilient.
This free event is open to all.
