The Benefits of Cover Crops in California: Above and Belowground Impacts
This webinar highlights insectary cover crop trials conducted by The Xerces Society and research from the USDA-ARS on cover crop impacts on soil health and water dynamics.

We will discuss on-farm evaluations of cover crops and highlight the considerations that went into species selection and seed mix formulations. Data on cover crop outcomes such as changes in beneficial insect populations, including pollinators and natural enemies of crop pests, will also be shared.

Next, we dive belowground and share research results on how cover crops impacted soil microbial populations and water inputs when used as alley cover in a vineyard.
