Target audience for webinar: For those involved and interested in transforming the health system in Ontario
Fall prevention strategies can contribute to significant reductions in fall-related injuries, hospitalizations and associated health care costs among older adults. But the collective impact of fall prevention efforts in Ontario is limited by a fragmented system of delivery that makes it difficult to maximize impact and efficiencies. To address this challenge, the Ontario Fall Prevention Collaborative, comprised of more than 30 health representatives in Ontario, developed a position paper illustrating how recent changes to Ontario’s health care system can be leveraged to create a more integrated, efficient and cost effective approach to fall prevention. The webinar provides an overview of the position paper and will include opportunities for participants to provide feedback on the proposed recommendations and contribute suggestions for the greater integration of fall prevention into the spectrum of health services for older adults.
