As educators, we hope that summer is a time for exploration, making new connections, and self-discovery for our students. We hope that this happens both within the pages of books as well as in the real world. We make grand plans at the end of each school year to make sure our students are well-equipped to read with high-engagement, high-volume and powerful comprehension — all. summer. long.
In this webinar, Shana Frazin and Kristi Guinness, TCRWP Staff Developers, will discuss the soon-to-be-released video series, Reading Partners. In this series of videos, TCRWP staff developers become students’ virtual reading partners, recommending irresistible series books as well as sharing the kind of thinking and jotting work that will support movement up levels.
Included in this webinar will be:
-an overview of the Reading Partners videos series
-a discussion of text complexity and ways to target high-leverage comprehension work within and across bands
-an exploration of the variety of ways teachers could integrate Reading Partners videos into their summer school instruction
-a sneak peek at the student-facing videos and teaching-facing materials
Please join Shana and Kristi to learn this exciting new offering which is designed to turn those grand plans for summer reading into reality.
