AltaMed celebrates National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) with a week of action intended to engage it’s network of clinics, clinic partners, and providers to remind them about the importance of registering to vote and participating in elections. Community Health Centers (CHC) have traditionally been rooted in social justice by providing equitable access to quality healthcare for some of the most vulnerable and underserved communities in our nation. Collectively, CHC’s serve over 7.2 million patients in California and 29 million nationally. Through its integrated civic engagement model AltaMed seeks to continue to build it’s blueprint of community health centers as civic engagement hubs engaging the trusted voices of doctors, nurses, and clinic staff to empower the communities they serve to have a voice in the political process.
We invite you to join us on Thursday, September 30 at 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM PT for a comprehensive conversation about the importance of voter registration, voting, and combating disinformation with Vote-ER, NALEO Educational Fund, Common Cause, and the National Conference on Citizenship. Topics covered will include effective strategies in partnering with community health centers and healthcare providers, the importance of trusted messengers, how to combat and monitor disinformation in our communities, as well as share important messages and tools to help engage Latinos and other underserved communities in the process.
