INFOGEST is an international network with the aim of Sharing Information on the Digestion of Food. INFOGEST was created under a cost Action [FA1005] and has evolved into an open network of scientists from both academia and industry from over 45 countries, with some financial support by the French Research Organisation INRAE. The aim of the network is to improve the current scientific knowledge on how food is disintegrated during oral, gastric and intestinal digestion.
The specific areas of interest are:
• In vitro models of digestion
• Food interaction – meal digestion
• Absorption models
• Digestive lipases and lipid digestion
• Digestive amylases and starch digestion
• In silico models of digestion
The INFOGEST Webinar Series on Food Digestion is held on the first Wednesday of every month at 2PM (Dublin/London/Edinburgh/Lisbon) and is hosted by Dr André Brodkorb of Teagasc. . Each webinar focuses on a different theme related to the working groups from the INFOGEST network and features presentations from two researchers, followed by a question and answer session.
