The Prosperity Project™ and Ontario Power Generation present a new webinar series Women in Skilled Trades. The first installment of the series "Planning a Future in Skilled Trades" focuses on educating, inspiring and supporting women who are considering a career in skilled trades.
A skilled trade is a career path that requires specialized knowledge and hands-on work. When people think about skilled trades, there are often only a few that spring into mind. In reality, there are more than 300 designated trades in Canada and they generally fall within four main categories: construction, transportation, manufacturing and services.
Each webinar will feature five, distinct women from across Canada who will discuss their experiences in their respective skilled trades careers.
Melany Cyr - StructGeneral Foreman of the Maintenance shop at Dow Chemical
Lisa Langevin - Director of Equity and Engagement at the Industry Training Authority (ITA)
Sanja Boskovic - Associate Dean, Aerospace at BCIT
Courtney Smith - Carpenter Apprentice
Mandy Rennehan - CEO & Founder at Freshco.ca
The webinar sessions will be held via Zoom Webinar. There will be a Q&A so prepare your questions. We look forward to learning together, because after all, “when women succeed, we all prosper!"
