Screen Time Concerns: From Infancy to Adolescence
Surveys indicate that only 16% of pediatric providers regularly discuss screen time with their patients. Yet approximately 98% of US children age 8 years or younger live in an internet-connected home and, on average, have more than 2 hours of screen time daily, exceeding the pediatric guideline recommendation that children spend no more than one hour per day viewing high-quality programming. Rebecca Hicks, MD, FAAP, IBCLC will present the latest research regarding brain development related to screen time, as well as guidance for integrating this information into clinical practice.
