How Nashville Became Music City presented by Robert K. Oermann
“How Nashville Became Music City” is a lively journey through 200 years of Nashville history that highlights the musical milestones that made the community world famous as a center for the creation of music. It tells the tales of such popular-culture icons as Davy Crockett, The Fisk Jubilee Singers and Beth Slater Whitson, the Nashvillian who wrote “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” and other classics. Along the way, we learn of the contributions of Roy Acuff, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Alabama, Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, Jack White and the other performers who have contributed to Nashville’s reputation as Music City U.S.A. Robert K. Oermann’s narration about the development of Music Row and its industries is accompanied by a vivid, PowerPoint slide show of images.
