Kendra Ellwanger
Quality Enhancement Specialist @CQL The Council on Quailty and Leadership
Kendra has spent her career providing supports and services to people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities and older adults. Throughout college she worked as a nurse’s aide and medication aide within a few different nursing homes, primarily with individuals who were experiencing dementia. Kendra then worked as a part-time, weekend overnight Direct Support Professional as she was starting nursing school and decided immediately she needed to re-evaluate her career. At that time, she switched majors to psychology and soon after took a full-time DSP position and within a few months as a manager of a group home. Kendra found her calling, supporting people to access and engage with their communities. She has worked in the South Dakota Division of Developmental Disabilities, where she assessed the compliance of state-certified agencies with both Federal and State law and regulation, which included CQL Accreditation.
