While much has changed as a result of the pandemic, including the rapid adoption of digital currencies and electronic payments, issues around cybersecurity are largely unchanged. As a result, employers and consumers need to be prepared now, deploying preventable measures earlier than anticipated. The demand for new systems, improved processes, preventative tools and capable staff to combat cyberattacks has never been higher. Guarding our assets has become more critical as a result. However, to do so, the shortage of cybersecurity professionals who can leverage the new tools and technologies available to them must be addressed, as well as developing processes that are impenetrable.
UPCEA, in partnership with ThriveDX and Lightcast, is sponsoring a series of webinars to address industry developments in the new economy. Webinars will focus on skills professionals need to succeed in these fields and the role of higher education. This initial webinar on cybersecurity will highlight industry challenges, occupational demographics and pathways, and hiring and skill development needs.
