Climate change, Bord Bia carbon footprint measurements and farm actions to address climate change and meet agricultural climate targets for Ireland.
This webinar is targeted at the staff of all Signpost partner organisations to provide training and insight into the areas of climate change, carbon footprint measurements and actions that will need to be implemented at farm level over the next decade to meet national obligations and targets.
The urgency of climate action at farm level will be explained by Tom O’ Dwyer, Signpost Programme manager with Teagasc. This area will cover trends in agricultural emissions, policy implementation and agricultural consequences of climate change.
In order to manage you have to measure and Dr. Eleanor Murphy, Sustainability Data and Analytics Manager will explain what information is collected and what reports are shared with farmers to quantify their individual farms carbon footprints.
Finally after covering why climate change is urgent and how to assess a farm carbon footprint, Seamus Kearney, Training and Development specialist with Teagasc will address the practical farm actions that farmers can undertake to reduce their farm emissions by up to 15% by 2030.
