Description

Through the Urban Fellows Programme (UFP), Fellows are equipped with high levels of technical, analytical and professional skills that are taught through a series of Skill Labs. Along with assignments, Practica and Projects, Fellows apply these skills in practical problem-solving contexts. This includes a mix of both, required and elective skill labs. In this webinar, IIHS faculty Rekha Raghunathan and Teja Malladi will speak about the ‘Skill Labs’ element of the UFP.

He has an MSc in Geo-Information Sciences and Earth Observation with specialisation in Natural Hazards and Disaster Risk Management from University of Twente. Teja’s practice, research and teaching interests are in the areas of urban disaster risk reduction, hazard risk and vulnerability assessment using remote sensing and geographic information systems. He is part of the team that offers a Skill Lab on Geographical Information System (GIS) as part of the UFP. Rekha Raghunathan Rekha is Lead-Word Lab at IIHS. She works with the faculty and researchers to establish and help implement editorial processes across all IIHS teams for in-house publications, working papers, reports and policy briefs. Her focus areas include converting research material into data stories and op-eds for online platforms and non-academic audiences, and doing substantive and copy-editing on several IIHS publications. Rekha teaches writing skills as part of the UFP.
