This Library Lecture kicks off CosmicCon, a week-long event hosted by the Leon County Public Library celebrating our community’s love for comics, graphic novels, artwork, fandoms, gaming and pop culture.
This event will be held in-person at LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Library and virtually through Zoom.
Elizabeth Lampman Davis loves creating magical, whimsical, emotion-filled stories and illustrations for children. She believes in the power of story for all readers, but especially loves children’s literature for the role it plays in building into the person a child might become. She has a special passion for highlighting underrepresented children, especially those in multiracial, foster/adoptive, blended, neurodivergent, and multi-abled families. She sets her scenes in nature whenever possible, and utilizes color and light to create a sense of mood and imagination for her stories.
Elizabeth is represented by literary agent Elana Roth Parker at Laura Dail Literary Agency. Elizabeth is a marketing and communications professional by day, author-illustrator by night, and a major coffee drinker.
She was awarded the first place in the SCBWI Florida 2020 Rising Kite Illustration Contest, and placed third in the Rising Kite Picture Book Contest that same year. Her first solo gallery exhibition featuring her illustration work launched in Florida in January 2021.
