CyberCX invites you to join Jane Halton AO PSM FAICD FIPPA and Alastair MacGibbon as they discuss Australia’s recently released cyber security strategy and the impact on corporations, large and small.
The release of the 2020 Cyber Security Strategy makes clear that the Government plans to introduce cyber security regulations for corporations. In the same way as Workplace Health and Safety is now fully accepted as a board responsibility, soon boards and executives will be held accountable for cyber security risk management.
In a document that recognises the increasing role of the private sector, the strategy proposes potential changes to corporations, consumer, privacy and data protection laws. Is it the Government’s role to protect industry? Should risk and risk remediation rest on the shoulders of those who run organisations? When policy is introduced, how will a sector wide security baseline drive innovation, stability and profitability? And how will small and medium businesses manage cyber risk?
Join us for a wide-ranging discussion between two of the country's leading commentators with valuable insight across Government and Industry.
