Mapping the Seafloor around Africa - Current Status of Seafloor mapping in Africa

This first session will focus on taking stock of what has been achieved in seafloor mapping around Africa. This will include an introduction to the Nippon Foundation - GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project and a review of data currently included in the freely-available GEBCO ocean map for this region. The session will also include presentations from regional coordination groups such as the Nairobi Convention, the Abidjan Convention and the Benguela Current Convention.
