January Monthly Program
Presentation: 10 Idaho Birds You Should Know About

In this presentation, you’ll learn about 10 Idaho birds that the Idaho Young Birders Club's leadership team identified as being particularly important for Idaho birders to learn about. These include obvious choices like the Mountain Bluebird and Peregrine Falcon, as well as less obvious choices like Mountain Quail and Black Rosy-Finch. These birds were selected because they have a special relationship to Idaho, an interesting conservation story, or both. Most of them are Species of Greatest Conservation Need in Idaho.

Presenter: Lucian Davis

Lucian Davis is the president of the Idaho Young Birders Club (IYBC), a new GEAS program aimed at engaging young people with birds and conservation. He is a BSU student studying biology, and he volunteers with the Intermountain Bird Observatory’s raptor, songbird, and hummingbird banding projects. Lucian started birding in 2018 when he was 17.
