Cincinnati Heritage Programs Speakers Bureau: Getting There
For over two centuries Cincinnatians have embraced a variety of transportation modes. Whether settling in the region or traveling to distant destinations, people had transportation choices such as flatboats, canal boats and steamboats. Gradually, within the city, there were choices for travel to work and play such as inclines, streetcars and eventually the automobile. Why was the Rapid Transit System proposed in the early 20th century never finished? And why is the Greater Cincinnati Airport across the river in Kentucky?
