Dr. Mark Corey
Director of Scientific & Government Affairs @National Coffee Association
Dr. Corey oversees technical and advocacy issues on coffee science, regulatory, food safety, and health and maintains extensive relationships with partners in industry, academia, government, and NGO’s, and is involved in the Sustainable Coffee Challenge. Prior to joining the NCA, Mark worked in the coffee industry at Keurig Green Mountain and Heartland Food Products Group in various Research & Development roles and served as volunteer Chair of the Scientific Advisory Group of the NCA for five years.
Eileen Gordon
Secretary General @European Coffee Federation
Eileen became Secretary General of the European Coffee Federation (ECF) in 2017. Before joining ECF, she was Secretary General of the Spanish Coffee Federation from March 2005 to July 2017, as well as Secretary General of the Spanish Tea and Herbal Infusions Association from November 2010 to that date. She previously served as Managing Director of the Spanish Cheese Exporting Board for two years. Eileen worked as Trade Office for the Embassy of Spain in Beijing (China) from June 2000 to October 2001. Eileen holds a BSc in Business and Economics (Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Spain) having also studied at the Kovenhavn Business School (Denmark).
Karen McIntyre
Director General @Health Canada, Food Directorate
Karen McIntyre is the Director General of Health Canada’s Food Directorate within the Department’s Health Products and Food Branch. She manages a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and regulators to develop standards, policies and regulations to support the safety and nutritional value of the Canadian food supply. Karen works closely with the food industry, health organizations, federal, provincial and territorial partners, international governments and food standard setting organizations. Prior to joining the Food Directorate in March 2015, she worked for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency where she was accountable for the development of guidance to ensure the effective delivery of inspection programs in food safety, animal and plant health. Karen has been leading the Minister of Health’s mandate to improve food labelling, reduce sodium consumption and prohibit the advertising of certain foods to children.
