Maria Garcia is the creator and host of "Anything for Selena," a podcast by WBUR and Futuro Studios that examines the life and legacy of Selena Quintanilla. Maria is also WBUR's Managing Editor, where she oversees strategy for WBUR's investigative, arts and culture, environmental and education teams. She came to Boston from New York City where she earned a Master of Arts in journalism, with a focus on arts and culture reporting from Columbia Journalism School. Before that, Maria reported on politics and public policy along the U.S. - Mexico border for more than a decade. Maria is also a queer Xicana who listens to Selena when she needs some motivation
Kate Carey
Head of Education @McNay Art Museum
Kate Carey serves on the Museum leadership team and oversees McNay docents (volunteers who give school tours) and education programs (virtual and in-person). Carey exercised a co-curator role in exhibitions American Dreams: Classic Cars and Postwar Paintings (2019), Fashion Nirvana: Runway to Everyday (2020), and Selena Forever/Siempre Selena (2020-2021).
