AT and AAC Tools for Literacy for All
Let’s address the 10 elements at work when individuals with significant disabilities are successfully learning literacy to read and write. This webinar will address how AAC and AT can help students access literacy experiences. Repetition, variety and engagement are the key. Modeling how one would use AAC for reading and writing is also required. These strategies don’t often come naturally so let’s look at how activities would vary on a variety of AAC apps including TouchChat, Proloquo2go, LAMP and GoTalk, as well as low tech options.

Objectives
1. Identify 10 elements at work when teaching reading and writing.
2. Model storytelling strategy on a variety of AAC apps that prompts engagement and increases relevancy to all learners.
3. Consider low tech options for those with visual impairments and limited use of hands.
