Solar Power 101: A Webinar for Faith Communities
Does your faith community have soul-ar power? For faith communities, solar power can mean putting panels on a roof, but it can also mean much more. The pursuit of solar power can also be a way to serve the community and advocate for a more just society. Solar United Neighbors has done ground-breaking work in this area that has been replicated all over the country. Anya Schoolman is their founder and executive director. For her accomplishments, she was honored by the White House in 2014 as a Champion of Change. In this webinar, she will cover three critical areas for faith communities interested in solar power:

-Practical Tips for Going Solar: financing options, pitfalls to avoid, strategies for success, and more.
-Solar Coops: a proven way to lower costs not only for faith communities but also neighborhood residents.
-Values-Based Action: pursuing energy democracy and equity as advocates for change.

This webinar is co-hosted by the Rev. Dr. Brooks Berndt of the United Church of Christ Environmental Justice Ministry and the Rev. Michael Malcom of Alabama Interfaith Power & Light and the People's Justice Council.
