In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the World Obesity Federation and colleagues have launched a series of webinars on COVID-19 and obesity. To date, the webinar series has explored the evidence for the worsening of COVID-19 symptoms amongst people with obesity, the impact of COVID-19 on the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity, telemedicine innovations, and national policy responses.
Building on the success of previous World Obesity Live events, this interactive webinar, delivered in partnership with the Global Alliance for the Future of Food, will take a step back and look at obesity and COVID-19 in the wider context of food systems. We will consider how local and global food environments have been impacted by COVID-19, and the importance of food systems in ensuring a healthy recovery for people and planet.
