Mike Mayers, OD, FAAO (Speaker)
Dr. Mike Mayers is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Upon graduating, he practiced in multiple eye care settings and built his own optometric company. In 2011, Dr. Mayers joined Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. He has held multiple leadership roles within the organization that span from R&D to marketing, and currently serves as Director of Advocacy in the US. In his current role he focuses on shaping and leading eye health advocacy initiatives that prioritize patient eye health while keeping the patient-doctor relationship at the center of care. Dr. Mayers is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Contact Lens and Cornea Section within AOA.
Kurt Moody, OD, FAAO, FBCLA (Speaker)
Dr. Kurt Moody has been employed by Johnson and Johnson Vision since 2005. He received his Doctorate in Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1983. After graduation Dr. Moody joined the Eye Care Specialists of North East Pennsylvania; one of the largest MD/OD practices in Pennsylvania where he practiced for 22 years as the Director of Optometric Services. During the thirteen years Dr. Moody has been employed at J&J he has held multiple positions in R&D, developing both 1-Day Acuvue TruEye and 1-Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism. Dr. Moody also was the R&D lead that developed 1-Day Acuvue Moist Multifocal. In 2015 Dr. Moody became the Director of the Clinical Science group, charged with the creation of clinical development plans for new contact lens products. Most recently, Dr. Moody has taken the position of Director of Professional Education for North America.
