NYSDSC - Spring 2021 Remote Conference
This years NYSDSC Spring Conference is titled, "Creating Growth Out of Change"

With the pandemic, disability professionals were forced to move remotely at a time when remote coordination was necessary. The past fifteen months has been a time we will never forget. We honor all the growth and change this year represented and present you with a full and active conference on topics we learned throughout the COVID experience; from abelism, to digital accessibility, alternate funding to housing accommodations and everything in between.

Please join us for three days of learning!

Keynote Speaker: Lydia X.Z. Brown, Pronouns (they, them, theirs)
American Activist
Lydia X. Z. Brown is an advocate, organizer, educator, attorney, strategist, and writer. Their work focuses on addressing state and interpersonal violence targeting disabled people living at the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, faith, language, and nation. Lydia currently serves as a member of the American Bar Association’s Commission on Disability Rights, chairperson of the ABA Civil Rights and Social Justice Section’s Disability Rights Committee, and representative of the Disability Justice Committee to the National Lawyers Guild’s National Executive Committee. We have invited Lydia to speak to us, as a like-minded professional and friend, to validate the work that we do as Education professionals. They will advise us as to how to leverage campus relationships to get a seat at the table when matters of diversity are discussed and will also assist us in empowering our students to use their voices to create awareness and inclusion for them.
