We are writing to invite you to the second event in a new series – Advancing Adult Learner Success – hosted by the Presidents Forum. This convening – The Power and Potential of Alternative Credentials – will be held in partnership with UPCEA June 23, 1:00PM – 2:15PM ET.
Alternatives to a college degree such as certificates and certifications can prepare learners for jobs without the same level of time and financial investment as a full degree program, which may be particularly helpful for busy adult learners juggling work, school and family commitments. At this convening, we will discuss best practices for institutions that are looking to implement or expand alternative credentials. We will also explore how providing new credential options can help institutions enroll and serve adult learners, working learners and prospective learners who may be skeptical of the value of higher education. The convening will begin with a roundtable discussion of existing research on and initiatives to support alternative credentials, followed by a panel of experts who will discuss the findings and offer their perspectives on the rise and potential of alternative credentials.
