Keyon Harrold is recognized as one of the most creative and important artists on the jazz scene. His style of blending jazz traditions with contemporary genres are redefining jazz and its expanding its prominence with a new generation of jazz fans. From his first solo album, Introducing Keyon Harrold, in 2009, to his virtuosic trumpet work on Don Cheadle’s Miles Davis biopic, Miles Ahead, to his celebrated insightful 2017 release, The Mugician, Keyon’s evolution as an emerging jazz revolutionist is established. Keyon will also be performing his set, Jazz and the Birth of Hip-Hop, at the 2021 Detroit Jazz Festival and will serve as this year’s Untitled Artist.
