A Place to Call Home
Amariah Hays, raised out of foster care in Illinois, has dedicated her career to serving kids and families in the foster care system. Amariah spent 12 years in the foster care system in Illinois and aged out at 21. She graduated college with a degree in Social Work and started her career as a Case Manager. Currently she is an Advocate Coordinator with CASA of Champaign County. In 25 years Amariah noticed there is no literature that supports and explains what is happening to a child when they are placed in foster care. She joined New York Times Best Selling Author Jaleigh Johnson along with Illustrator Elizabeth Neathery to produce a children’s book to help youth in care through the foster care process in hopes of easing their fear of the unknown. Join Amariah Hays as she presents her book “A Place to Call Home.”
