Ashley Syer
@Syer Law
Ashley is a sole practitioner and mediator at her own firm, Syer Law, where she practices what she lovingly refers to as “crazy law”. She finally got tired of working for other people and decided to do her own thing. Her practice areas focus mainly on employment law, residential tenancy, small business disputes, and general civil litigation and administrative law. Ashley’s latest adventures have been taking over and renovating an office in a heritage building in Gastown, and an advanced mediation program at Harvard, with a specialization in complex multi-party disputes. When she’s not practicing law, Ashley can be found travelling the globe, writing her novel, pretending to be a real photographer, performing in musical theatre productions, and usually with a glass of wine in her hand!
Marc-Alexandre Poirier
@Map Legal
Marc is a seasoned business lawyer with broad experience working in leading law firms in Canada (Davies) and Hong Kong (Baker & McKenzie). In 2011, Marc started his own law practice (Map Legal) serving technology and growth companies. Marc is co-founder of Center Street Records, an independent Canadian record label. Marc has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from University of Toronto Faculty of Law and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Université Laval (Québec City). He is qualified as a lawyer in Quebec and British Columbia, Canada.
Brynn Doctor
@Doctor Law
Brynn Doctor is a family lawyer, mom, stepmom, and owner of Doctor Law in Calgary, AB. After spending $45,000 and 4 years helping her partner through his own divorce and custody matter, Brynn knew there had to be a better way to approach family law and decided to go to law school to do just that. In July of 2018, Doctor Law opened as a flat rate, paperless, mobile, no-retainer law firm focused exclusively on family law. Since then she has served more than 100 clients, and she continues to work towards changing the face of family law in Canada.
