Older & Wiser: Working Group Report Launch

Description

The Housing Forum's first 2021 event will be the launch of Older & Wiser - a practical guide to commissioning, developing and operating age friendly homes.
The guide has been written by a cross industry working group of Housing Forum members and has been recently updated to include design for well-being and provision of outside space which since the pandemic is more important than ever.
The panel will include Tom Titherington, Sovereign, Chair and Mike Turner, Ian Williams Ltd, Deputy Chair of the Working Group and members of the working group
With a shortfall of over 70,000 homes with care predicted over the coming decade, this launch will re -energise the debate about housing for older people following the pandemic.

Tom was formerly Executive Director of Property and Growth at Catalyst Housing. Before that, he spent two years as Chief Executive of the Network Housing Group, building on thirteen years as Executive Director of Business Development at The Hyde Group. Mike Turner (Development Director @Ian Williams Ltd) Mike Turner, Development Director Mike joined Ian Williams in 2003 as Executive Director. He has significant experience of collaborative working within the public sector and developing framework solutions within the private sector. Mike is a graduate from Cardiff University, a Chartered Engineer and has an MBA from University of Bath School of Management. Mike is a regular conference speaker on outsourcing and procurement, member of the Housing Forum Older People’s Housing Working Group, Chair of the NHMF Contractors Forum and a judge for the West of England Business of the Year Awards. Jenny Buterchi (Partner @PRP) Jenny, an expert architect of some 20 years, oversees the Surrey studio and leads the later living team at PRP. She has delivered award winning schemes, specialising in the provision for older people, mental health and learning disabilities including intergenerational living, housing with care, retirement housing and care homes. She has also written and contributed to numerous publications and design guides, across the housing, health and wellbeing sectors.
