Dr Jacki Schirmer
Associate Professor @University of Canberra
Jacki is an Associate Professor at University of Canberra. She leads the Regional Wellbeing Survey, an annual survey examining the views of 13,000 rural and regional Australians about the liveability and resilience of their community, and their own wellbeing and resilience. Jacki's personal research interests focus on understanding the social dimensions of natural resource management, particularly how people's access to and use of natural resources affects their health and wellbeing, and the impacts of events such as drought.
Shannon McCormack
Rural Financial Counsellor @Rural Financial Counselling Service - Northern Region
Shannon has over 20 years in Agribusiness, including beef production, equine performance horse industry and a number of years in rural merchandise sales. He studied a Dip Ag Bus and has managed agribusiness banking portfolios. Shannon is currently working with the Rural Financial Counselling Service – Northern Region.
Dr Mel Taylor
Occupational Psychologist @Macquarie University
Mel is an Occupational Psychologist based in the School of Psychology at Macquarie University. Her research focusses on preparedness, response, and recovery to events such as pandemics, terrorism, emergency animal diseases, and disasters. Key areas of research interest are psychosocial response and recovery, uptake of protective behaviours and risk communication strategies.
