She has been very involved with her community and has served as a volunteer with many community groups and organizations. She has been involved with Communities in Bloom for over 16 years as a volunteer, Chairperson of the the local CiB committee, a Saskatchewan Provincial Judge and a past National CiB Board member. Currently in her 8th year as a Councillor with the Town of Indian Head, she serves as the liaison between the local CiB committee and Council. Gwen and her husband Andrew have one daughter and son-in-law. They enjoy being busy in their community, gardening and are currently landscaping a new backyard. Most importantly however, is spoiling their 4 year old granddaughter! She has witnessed firsthand the great benefits that the Communities in Bloom program has brought to her community. “People, Plants, and Pride” totally sums up the great transition in Indian Head! Mayor Bill Weber Mayor Weber began his political career as a Councillor for Stephen Township in 1986, was elected Deputy Reeve of that municipality in 1992 and Reeve in 1995. He served on Huron County Council from 1992-1997. In 2000, Mayor Weber was elected to serve on the newly amalgamated Lambton Shores Council and held the position of Ward 2 Councillor until 2010 when he was elected Mayor of Lambton Shores, a position he was re-elected to in 2014 and 2018. Mayor Weber was elected as the County of Lambton Warden in 2017 and again in 2019. Mayor Weber has been an avid supporter of the Communities in Bloom program. Mayor Weber’s pride in his community is evident as he actively participates in the judges’ tour throughout Lambton Shores. Mayor Weber, a retired dairy farmer, has been married to his wife Ginger for 46 years and together they have three children and six grandchildren. Teri McMacken Teri is a municipal elected official with a passion for building her community and empowering the people around her to do the same. She has extensive experience volunteering with a number of NGOs rooted in community based initiatives. She initiated the Village of Petitcodiac’s participation in the National Communities in Bloom in 2018 which led to the Villages first ever Community Awards Night recognizing local people for their contributions. She is one of the founding members of the newly established Petitcodiac and Area Historical and Cultural Society which hosts a subcommittee dedicated to Communities in Bloom work. Self described career volunteer, Teri spends her “spare” time in her garden and with her family, two young boys (4.5 and 2.5), her amazingly supportive husband, two cats, and highly energetic dog.
