The Housing Forum is a national network of organisations involved in the commissioning, design and building of affordable homes. We are committed to collaboration and aim to provide forums which are beneficial both at a strategic and practitioner level.
Councils Housing Conference:
Following our successful Councils Housing Conference in May where we had some 130 online delegates we are planning the agenda for the 17 September conference with input from The Housing Forum’s Local Councils Advisory Group. Last week, the group reported a faster pick up in Housing programmes with reductions in predicted delays compared with April forecasts. We’ll poll delegates to get views on this to share back with you.
Key themes emerging from the group which will be covered will include:
• Financial challenges and opportunities coming out of lockdown
• Future plans and programmes – adapting to the new normal
• Securing value in local authority procurement
• Planning reforms – will quality and control be affected?
• A major estate regeneration case study
• MMC – how the challenge of delivering at scale is being addressed
In May there was a call for greater partnership working and speakers will reflect on progress being made through collaborations.
There’ll be thought provoking Q&A sessions and do let us have any questions you would like answered in advance.
Our council membership is growing and we anticipate some 150 delegates on 17 September. I hope you can join us to support the debate and inform future thinking.
May delegate comments included -
‘A thought provoking and relevant webinar addressing real issues that we are currently experiencing’
‘The webinar was excellent - relevant, timely and informative with good speakers’
