Implementing 3-Dimensional Learning: A Curriculum Coordinator Viewpoint
A well-articulated science program that promotes three-dimensional learning and building understanding over time can help transform science instruction and promote students’ science understanding. A former curriculum coordinator will share the changes that occurred when teachers incorporated three-dimensional learning into classroom instruction. She will talk about how students learn better when engaged in student-centered instruction where they ask questions, investigate, model, analyze, conclude and communicate in science class. Michelle will illustrate using a lesson from Activate Learning’s IQWST curriculum, which was used in her district to provide students with opportunities to develop, reinforce, and apply their science understanding in middle school.
