Felicia Horne
PhD Student, Material Science & Distribution Engineering @Tuskegee University
Felicia Horne holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL. She also holds a master’s degree from Tuskegee University in Mechanical Engineering, where her research focused on self-healing materials. After completing her master’s degree Felicia decided to take an opportunity in south Florida to work for a utility company as a distribution engineer. After working for a couple years in Florida, Felicia decided to return to Alabama for her doctoral degree.Felicia is currently a first year PhD student in material science and engineering at Tuskegee University. Her doctoral research is focused on multi-ferroic materials. Multiferroics are materials in which magnetism and ferroelectricity coexist. These materials are of applied interest because they allow various types of different magnetic and electric device structures. Felicia understands the importance of minorities and women in STEM and she enjoys volunteering and giving back.
