Europe’s Eccentric Art with Rick Steves
Europe is packed with world-famous art treasures...but for a change of pace, join Rick for a virtual tour of some of Europe's more offbeat art. We'll start with a poignant Swiss collection of untrained artists whom society considered "insane." In Oslo, we ogle Gustav Vigeland's evocative statues at Frogner Park and get to know the screaming art of Edvard Munch. In France, we'll learn about belle-époque Paris and tour Chartres Cathedral's Gothic architecture with guide extraordinaire Malcolm Miller. We’ll visit Salvador Dalí's bizarre home in Catalunya, which is just as wild as his Surrealist art. Then, for a stimulating dose of Slavic art, we'll venture to Bulgaria’s Rila Monastery and Croatia’s Museum of Naive Art in Zagreb. And we'll finish with the fairytale castles of Bavaria's "Mad" King Ludwig. For dinner, we'll enjoy a platter of kielbasa, pierogi, and sauerkraut, washed down by vodka.

Registration is required but doesn't guarantee admission. These are popular events, and seats can fill up quickly. Your best bet is to join us on time (or even a bit early) — and if you miss a show, recordings of all past Monday Night Travel shows can be viewed at www.ricksteves.com/mnt.
