Injuries at work: ergonomics and safety at work
Musculoskeletal injuries are one of the leading types of work-related injuries in the United States and account for one-third of all workers compensation claims in the country. While injury is possible in any occupation, it is most common in high-risk jobs such as agriculture, construction, and factory work. While immigrants frequently work in these high-risk jobs, factors such as language barriers, discrimination, and inadequate training make this population all the more vulnerable to workplace injury. This webinar will offer health outreach staff from the Ventanillas de Salud ways to identify and recognize the risk factors related to musculoskeletal injuries as well as promote strategies to help workers protect themselves.
