Voting Rights and Coal Creek: A 2-part event
1) History Bill gives a detailed explanation of how it was that African Americans were being elected to the Tennessee General Assembly in the 1880s but not after 1890 (thanks to changes in the state's voting laws).

2) Barry Thacker of the Coal Creek Watershed Foundation tells the remarkable and tragic story of the Coal Creek Wars in Anderson County, which made national needs and which clarified what governments could legally do under the Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
