Today, marine Environmental Impact Assessments vary from simple “back of the envelope” to large very complex models of the pressures and ecosystem. Simple assessments tend to be "overprotective", while complex assessments that include hydrodynamic and ecosystem models require time, many data, resources, and specialized skills. The digital technologies and platforms being developed today is a golden opportunity to democratize data, mapping and modeling methods for EIAs, which have so far only been available to experts. In this webinar we present DHI’s outlook on future easy-to-use online tools for marine EIAs, show you examples and discuss how digitalization can be used to easier implement new science for assessing or screening for environmental impacts.
- DHI outlook on digital tools to support future marine EIAs
- Quantifying magnitude of pressure for dredging activities - modeling for non-experts.
- Prescreening for showstoppers – how to assess key-data from a variety of external databases
- From statistical analyses to digital tools for impact screening
The webinar will take on Wednesday 27 November, 2019 - in two time slots 7.00 UTC and 15.00 UTC. Pick the time that suits you best!
