HIV Vaccines in the Midst of COVID
Featured experts, both researchers and advocates, will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on HIV vaccine research and development. Join the conversation to explore the lessons learned to date and how they serve as a warning, a model, and a body of evidence on the need for accelerated vaccine development and comprehensive strategies for global access.

Barney Graham of the NIH Vaccine Research Center will talk about mRNA technology and its implications. Pontiano Kaleebu of the MRC/UVRI & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit will provide updates on the PrEPVacc trial, and, along with Linda-Gail Bekker of the DTHF, will discuss the significance of African-based HIV vaccine research. Linda-Gail will also talk about the significance of Ad26 in the Mosaico and Imbokodo vaccine trials, and the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines in South Africa. Matthew Rose of Health GAP and Definate Nhamo of PZAT will explore the issue of confidence in vaccine research and delivery in the real world.
