THE SITUATION FOR BLACK FOLKS IN THE CITY OF BERKELEY HAS BECOME DIRE:

AFRICAN AMERICANS STILL HAVE HORRIFYING HEALTH OUTCOMES IN BERKELEY.

AFRICAN AMERICANS CONTINUE TO BE DISPLACED OUT OF BERKELEY AND THE BLACK POPULATION IN BERKELEY IS NOW LESS THAN 7%.

BLACKS HAVE HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT RATES AND THE BLACK WORKFORCE IN THE CITY IS DECREASING.

BERKELEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT HAD A MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT GAP BEFORE COVID-19, IT HAS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY.

RACIAL PROFILING OF AFRICAN AMERICANS CONTINUES AND THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE HAS INCREASED.

50% OF THE HOMELESS AND UN-HOUSED ARE BLACK PEOPLE.
