Mandolin Fundamentals with Matt Flinner

Learn mandolin with one of today's premiere players. This eight-week course will get into the fundamentals of mandolin playing to help students improve their skills and have more fun playing with others---just in time for the summer festival/music camp season! A handful of exercises will be given each week in the areas of picking technique, fingering technique, double stops, scales, arpeggios, chords and licks. Students will explore the fretboard in various keys and learn how to apply concepts and exercises to actual tunes, including one tune that we'll learn each week.
The course is intended for players of all ability levels, though absolute beginners will likely find it too difficult. Knowledge of some fiddle tunes and basic chords will be helpful!
The course takes place on Wednesday evenings at 9 pm eastern time, with practice/review sessions on Saturdays at 12:30 pm eastern time.
