Webinar: THE IMPACT AND OUTLOOK OF THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS ON WATER AND FOOD SECURITY IN THE ARAB REGION
All Arab countries have been impacted by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. For most of these countries that were already facing water security and major social, health and economic challenges before COVID-19, this additional pressure is particularly excruciating.
As a result of the current coronavirus pandemic and the necessity to better understand, monitor and respond to the situation, the Middle East Water Forum MEWF will host a panel to share insights on the current impact and outlook for water and food security in the Arab region. The webinar will take place on Tuesday 16th June 2020, 18.00-19:30 CEST.

Prof. Jamal Saghir
Advisory Board Member of MEWF @Middle East Water Forum
Mr. Jamal Saghir is an expert in Energy, Water, Transport, Infrastructure, International finance, Project Finance and Economic Development with over 25 years of experience at the World Bank Group. Mr. Saghir is currently Professor of Practice at the Institute for the Study of International Development at McGill University, Montreal, Distinguished Fellow, at the American University of Beirut and Senior Fellow at the Payne Institute for Public Policy, Colorado. Mr. Saghir has contributed to over 50 publications, essays and books.
PMP Eng. Hassan Tolba Aboelnga
Vice Chairman of the Middle East Water Forum (MEWF) and one of the Emerging Water Leaders in the Middle East. @MEWF
Mr. H. Aboelnga is a PhD researcher at University of Kassel and TH Köln in Germany with a particular interest in urban water security issues. Aboelnga is a management committee member of water safety plan, intermittent water supply, and public and customer communications specialist groups at International Water Association IWA. He is a civil engineer by profession and certified project management professional (PMP)® and has been an active in the international level as emerging water leader in issues of water security, climate change and sustainable development. He has a strong academic background, Bachelor of civil engineering from Mansoura University , master courses in construction management from Cairo University in Egypt and IWRM masters of science from technical University of Cologne (TH Köln) and University of Jordan, including international professional trainings in water related issues.
