Stonecroft Foundation Visiting Artist Lecture Series: Ken Lum

The Department of Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa, in collaboration with the National Gallery of Canada is proud to present the sixth annual Stonecroft Foundation Visiting Artist Lecture with Ken Lum.
Ken Lum will present an artist-talk, followed by one-on-one conversation with the Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, Josée Drouin-Brisebois, and a question period with the audience.

In English with simultaneous French interpretation.

If you miss the live talk, the recording will be posted on the NGC’s YouTube channel a few days after the event.

Le Département d’arts visuels de l’Université d’Ottawa, en collaboration avec le Musée des beaux-arts du Canada est fier de présenter la sixième édition de la série de conférences d’artistes invités de la Fondation Stonecroft avec Ken Lum.
La causerie d'artiste de Ken Lum sera suivie d'une conversation avec Josée Drouin-Brisebois, conservatrice principale de l’art contemporain, et d'une période de questions du public.

En anglais avec interprétation simultanée en français.

He uses combinations of photographic images and text, sculptural components, and ideas about language to produce art that addresses contemporary life. In his art he considers the individual's place in society while investigating race and class distinctions. // Ken Lum est l'un des principaux artistes d'envergure internationale du Canada. Il utilise une combinaison d’images photographiques et de textes, d’éléments sculpturaux et d’idées sur le langage pour produire de l’art qui aborde la vie contemporaine. Dans son art, il considère la place de l’individu dans la société, tout en examinant les distinctions de race et de classe. Josée Drouin-Brisebois (Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Canada ) Josée Drouin-Brisebois is the Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Canada. She has curated numerous exhibitions, including monographs of senior Canadian artists Chris Cran (2016), Arnaud Maggs (2012) and Christopher Pratt (2005), as well as several thematic group exhibitions. // Josée Drouin-Brisebois est conservatrice principale de l’art contemporain au Musée des beaux-arts du Canada. Elle a organisé de nombreuses expositions, dont des monographiques d’artistes canadiens majeurs tels Chris Cran (2016), Arnaud Maggs (2012) et Christopher Pratt (2005), ainsi que plusieurs expositions collectives thématiques.
