Paul Brydges
Chair - CiB National Chair
Paul Brydges is the Senior Landscape Architect, and founder of Brydges Landscape Architecture; established in 2004. Paul brings over 35 years of combined horticultural and design/build experience to the design process. Paul is Past President of Landscape Ontario and he is a member of the APALA, CNLA, OALA, ASLA, CSLA, Landscape Ontario. Paul lectures throughout North America on the values of design, the environment and collaboration. Currently Paul is the National Chair of Communities in Bloom Foundation, on the board of directors of the CNLA, Landscape Ontario, Highway of Heroes and the Vimy Oaks Legacy Committee. For Paul, it is truly important to create unique and environmentally responsible designs. Not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to align with the company value of “honouring” nature.
Bob Lewis
CiB Past National Chair, CiB National Judge
Bob is retired from the National Capital Commission (NCC) in Ottawa where he was the Director for Capital Urban Parks & Green spaces. Bob's first career was in the Canadian Forces as a Military Engineer where he served in various locations across Canada as an Army Combat Engineer and Military Public Works Director. At the NCC Bob was responsible for the management of Federal urban lands including pristine parks, urban forests, naturalized areas, parkways, the Parliament Hill grounds, Federal office sites, public outdoor recreational facilities, including the Rideau Canal Skateway (the longest skating rink in the world), and sixteen acres of flower beds including more than 500,000 tulips and 200,000 annuals. Bob has been associated with Communities in Bloom for over twenty years, a National Judge for eighteen years and is also a member of the Board of Directors of Communities in Bloom and the past National Chair.
Alain Cappelle
CiB International Judge
Living in Nieuwpoort, Belgium, Alain Cappelle graduated in 1988 as a professional bachelor of Landscape and Garden Architecture. He participated in several international competitions regarding the management of local environment, such as Communities in Bloom, Liveable Communities and Entente Florale Europe. As an international Communities in Bloom judge, he has evaluated communities throughout Canada, UK, Ireland, South Korea and Italy. He has over more than 30 years of experience as a Landscape Architect. His expertise covers all aspects of Landscape Architecture from parks, urban spaces and recreation grounds, city planning and urban design.
