Is voting a right? What were/are the conditions when voting rights have been expanded or contracted? What about today’s efforts are similar or different from the past? How will the implementation and administration of the proposed legislation affect the ability to vote? What is the impact of these efforts on democracy?
Professor David Schultz (Hamline University and U of MN) and Tammy Patrick (Senior Advisor on Elections for the Democracy Fund and an adjunct professor at the Humphrey School's Certificate in Election Administration program) will present information that will give context to voting legislation and the evolution of voting rights.
