Mark Holland
President @Holland Planning Innovations Inc.
MARK HOLLAND is President of Holland Planning Innovations Inc., a planning and development consulting company based on Vancouver Island. His career started in the City of Vancouver as a city planner and subsequently as the founder and first manager of its Sustainability Office. He moved on to help co-found two consulting companies, the Holland Barrs Planning Group, and then HB Lanarc Consultants – both of whom have been recognized nationally as leaders in innovative planning, design and sustainability. In 2015 and 2016, he served as Vice President of Development for Storm Mountain Developments, managing the development of an 1,800 acre project on Vancouver Island – the Lantzville Foothills. Mark is also a partner and past VP of Development for the New Monaco LP and project in Peachland, BC – an award winning 125 acre master planned community, expected to commence construction in 2017. Currently, Mark is an Adjunct Professor in the Master’s in Community Planning program at VIU.
Larry Beasley

LARRY BEASLEY is the retired Co-Director of Planning for the City of Vancouver. He is now the founding principal of Beasley and Associates, an international planning and urban design consultancy and the “Distinguished Practice Professor of Planning” at the University of British Columbia. He is a Registered Professional Planner in Canada. After more than thirty years of civic service in which he led the planning and development management that transformed the inner city of Vancouver, Larry Beasley now teaches and advises on urbanism around the world. He chairs the ‘National Advisory Committee on Planning, Design and Realty’ of Ottawa’s National Capital Commission; he is Senior Advisor on Urban Design in Dallas, Texas; and he is a member of the International Economic Development Advisory Board of Rotterdam in The Netherlands.
Jennifer Keesmaat

JENNIFER KEESMAAT is an urban planner passionate about creating places where people flourish. Named one of the “most powerful people in Canada” by Macleans, one of the “most influential” by Toronto Life, and one of the top Women of Influence in Canada, she spent five years as Toronto’s Chief City Planner, where she was celebrated for her forward thinking and collaborative approach to city-building. A Distinguished Visitor in Residence Emeritus at the University of Toronto, Keesmaat continues to share her vision for cities of the future, and her belief in the importance of public sector leadership through a variety of publications including The Guardian, Macleans, The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star and on her podcast, Invisible City. Keesmaat is on the Advisory Board of the Urban Land Institute, Toronto, and is appointed to the International Panel of Experts, Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority.
