Brian Murphy & Peter Hamilton
@St. John Bosco Youth Centre & Maynooth Town SEC
Brian Murphy has been the manager of the Bosco since 2003 and had always been very conscious of the effective management of their energy usage especially due to the age of the building. The development of Drimnagh SEC has given the centre access to the professional supports to devise a costed plan to make the building as energy efficient as possible. Brian has a wealth of experience from bringing the SEC through the three-step process and will speak about the lessons learned so far. Peter Hamilton was a founder of Maynooth SEC in 2018 and has been chair since then. A member of the Green Party, he was elected to Kildare County Council in 2019. He is currently also chair of the Kildare Green Party branch and chairs the Climate Strategic Policy Committee in Kildare County Council. An engineer by background Peter has worked in the technology industry since 1983 bringing a strong set of experiences to the challenge of capacity building and community work towards a more sustainable future.
