This 2-hour virtual continuing education course is presented in an interdisciplinary format for PTs, PTAs, OTRs, COTAs, and CPs (Certified Prosthetists). People with limb loss are also welcomed to attend to learn alongside members of their healthcare teams. Attendees will learn tips for navigating common community destinations such as grocery stores and movie theaters that could present barriers for people wearing prosthetic devices. Tricks for managing community-based processes such as self-checkout lanes and gas stations will also be presented. Content is derived from a combination of clinical experience on the part of the presenters and wide-ranging feedback from people with years of experience wearing prosthetic limbs.
