From Offshore to Onshore: Resolving Transmission Constraints with U.S. Offshore Wind Deployment
The influx of renewable solutions – and the need to integrate them with conventional transmission infrastructure – has changed the dynamics of the power market and introduced new opportunities around offshore wind. Transmission upgrades with the first tranche of Offshore Wind projects have been relatively small thus far, but as the market continues to strengthen, expect to see an uptick in transmission upgrades to support for the next wave of development. This session will discuss the efforts to support integration of Offshore Wind power resulting from solicitations which are presently underway.

What you will learn:
• Gain insight into regional planning initiatives which support transmission upgrades required for project development
• Understand the present constraints and development opportunities to resolve constraints
• Review the key challenges with developing Transmission infrastructure to support the integration of offshore wind
